We are looking for an Engineering Group Leader in our international partners team with minimum 3+ years of leadership experience in leading teams of 7-10+ people, with advanced English language skills. You would work in Budapest, with 50% home-office opportunity.
Our partner is a global leader in training for the civil aviation, defense and security, and healthcare markets. They continue to help define global training standards with their innovative virtual-to-live training solutions to make flying safer, maintain defense force readiness and enhance patient safety.
Your responsibilities would include leading an existing and ever-expanding simulation and simulators development team of 15-25 people (C #, C ++ developers), managing talent, and performing HR / IT / Financial tasks.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing groups over the size of 7-10+
  • BSc/MSc in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics
  • Worked on complex software development projects/products (requiring capabilities in UX, DevOps, development, QA and support services)
  • Experience in mid/large multinational working environment
  • Driving license
  • Growth mindset

Nice to have

  • German knowledge

  • Project or program management experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage the allocation of workforce to projects in their portfolio
  • Align with local and regional (EU) peers on workforce under or overcapacity
  • Ensure financials of all projects in portfolio are properly tracked and issues are highlighted to senior management
  • Identify any potential risks/opportunities/mitigation plans
  • Ensure the highest productivity of their employees (team structure, processes, employee well-being/satisfaction, working conditions etc.)
  • Manage talent (mentoring, coaching training, salaries)
  • Mentor junior leaders or leader-candidates
  • Identify and lead related change initiatives
  • Follow lean management principles
  • Support the development of a project/product vision for their group
  • Lead or support the estimation of proposals
  • Lead internal R&D projects
  • Visit internal and external customers in Germany, Hungary or Canada (You have to travel abroad for 1 week twice a year)
